A Call to Progressives in the West to Raise Their Voices for the Hostages!
The Pro-Human Campaign to progressive opinion leaders in the West – Raise your voice for the Israeli hostages; you have a position of influence, power, and a special responsibility to do so.
The Pro-Human Campaign—a coalition of organizations and groups from Israel and around the world fighting the dehumanization of both Palestinians and Israelis—has launched an initiative to send an urgent appeal to influential figures and opinion leaders in progressive circles in the West. The call urges them to speak out for the Israeli hostages who are languishing and starving in the captivity of Hamas and other extremist groups.
Recently, the Campaign also issued a call to Israelis to speak out against the hunger in Gaza and to urge the international community to exert effective pressure on the Israeli government to end policies that create shortages and hunger there—while also noting Hamas’s role in the dire situation in the Strip. In doing so, the Pro-Human Campaign expresses a humanist commitment to all victims of the conflict and atrocities in our region.
The letter—whose full text appears below in both Hebrew and English—was sent yesterday evening (Monday, August 4, 2025) to members of the U.S. Congress, Members of the European Parliament, and prominent cultural figures. In the coming days, we will continue sending the letter to additional figures of this kind. The list of those to whom the letter has already been sent includes:
