An Open Letter to the International Community: Stop the Starvation in Gaza!

The Pro-Human Campaign, together with Zazim – Community Action, initiated an open letter to the international community, calling for urgent action to stop the starvation in the Gaza Strip. In the letter, we urged global decision-makers to exert effective pressure on the Israeli government to change policies that are contributing to severe shortages of food and medicine—and even to hunger and starvation—in Gaza.

While Hamas bears significant responsibility for cynically and cruelly exploiting the suffering of civilians, Israeli policies have also led to horrifying harm to the people of Gaza. We could not remain indifferent to the harrowing images emerging from the Strip. The time for empty words and condemnations is over—we told decision-makers. The time has come for effective pressure.

Over 3,000 Israelis signed the letter, raising a moral voice from within Israel, helping to strengthen international pressure, and showing a different face of Israeli society. The letter is now being shared with key stakeholders and influential actors across the international community.

As a society, we have a responsibility not to look away. Alongside Hamas, the Israeli government's policies have fueled hunger—through restrictions on the flow of humanitarian aid and by creating a governance vacuum in which the strong eat while the weak go hungry. We cannot ignore this.
